Re-Opening Protocols

We're Doing Our Part to Stay Healthy

CLUBWIDE PROTOCOLS

General

  • Stay home if you are sick or do not feel well - refer to CDC guidelines
  • WRRFC Operating protocols will be maintained and posted in alignment with State and Local requirements
  • All Members, Staff, Guests & Others are reminded to wash their hands regularly and/or use hand sanitizer
  • All staff will have daily symptom assessments before being allowed to work
  • Additional activity-specific protocols will be maintained and posted in addition to the facility-wide protocols
  • Front Desk and maintenance staff will wear masks/shields at all times. Other staff will wear masks when in public areas that are off-court.
  • All payments for services are preferred to be cashless – member accounts will be billed and non-member fees and purchases are preferred to be paid by credit card to minimize the handling of cash

Entering, Movement, Exiting Club

  • Everyone who enters the club must check in at the front desk
  • Maintain 6’ social distancing throughout the facility, including front desk and other public areas
  • Follow directional signage and other directions from staff members when entering, exiting and moving about the club
  • Members & guests must wear a mask when entering and exiting the club and when present in all public areas

Sanitizing & Cleaning

  • The club will perform sanitizing and cleaning procedures in alignment with State and Local requirements
  • Staff members will perform sanitizing procedures within their respective work areas throughout the day and perform regular hand-washing and/or hand sanitizing

Facility Services Adjustments

  • Restrooms are available and are to be used within social distancing guidelines
  • Until further notice, the following will not be available: Communal shower facilities, steam rooms, saunas, demo racquet rental, playroom, bar area, personal or club fans, towel service, water fountain & coffee bar
  • Lockers are available in reduced numbers to provide social distancing – any lockers unavailable are identified and not to be used
  • Individuals should bring their own water bottles and water/sports drinks – they are also available for purchase from the front desk
  • No lost and found will be maintained – personal items left at the club will be discarded immediately
  • Do not move or rearrange furniture or other club fixtures or equipment
  • Members, Guests & Staff are asked to not congregate in public areas of the club – do not sit, touch or enter barricaded areas

TENNIS PROTOCOLS

Programming & Play Protocols

Social Distancing

  • All tennis programming and interaction is designed to maintain 6 foot social distancing
  • Parents/guardians/families/spectators are allowed provided they maintain proper social distancing

Tennis Programming Formats

  • Tennis programming includes casual play, permanent court time, private and small group lessons and drills, match play and other formats that maintain social distancing

Reservation Process

  • Tennis reservations will be made by telephone, email, text, etc. to minimize in-person interaction
  • All reservations are strongly encouraged to be paid by member account or credit card

On-Court Protocols

  • Instructors will remind players of tennis protocols
  • Tennis instructors will practice regular hand washing/sanitizing
  • Non-essential equipment has been removed from court areas
  • Tennis Pros will have their own assigned baskets and balls
  • Tennis instructional equipment will be cleaned after use
  • Demo racquets are not presently available - their usage and handling protocols are being evaluated

Player, Spectator, Other Protocols

  • Players should wait to be called to their court or after the previous group has left the court

After Play

  • Players will be asked to leave the court before the next tennis player(s) arrive
  • Players will be asked to not congregate in the club
  • Parents/guardians/families/spectators are allowed provided they maintain proper social distancing

On-Court

  • Players should bring their own sports drinks/water – they are also available for purchase at the front desk
  • Players should limit switching ends of the court – any switching should be in a clockwise direction
  • Players should leave their tennis gear on opposite sides of the court and at least 6 feet from others
  • Players should keep towels and other personal items in their bags between use during play
  • Players should not touch others equipment, gear, etc.
  • Practice good sportsmanship – replace handshakes, high-fives, etc., with the wave of a hand or racquet

GROUP FITNESS PROTOCOLS

Registration/Arrival/Check-in/Departure

  • Group fitness classes will be capped at a maximum of 15 participants per class until further notice. To ensure your spot in a class, you should sign up for a class at front desk or by phone 24 hours prior to the class. There will be a NO SHOW FEE of $10.00 to your account.
  • Each member must scan in at front desk. The instructor for your class will sign you in and out of the class you are attending.
  • You will be advised of what door(s) to enter and exit

Fitness Class/Fitness Room Protocols

  • Programming will be arranged to provide social distancing – including instructor directions, signage, etc.
  • Equipment will be sanitized between classes and during afternoon closure
  • Participants are to bring their own water bottles, towels, mats, etc.
  • Spin bikes are to be set-up before classes and stored after classes by instructors only
  • The use of fans is prohibited until further notice

Participant Expectations

  • Read and familiarize oneself with overall club protocols
  • Maintain social distancing throughout the club at all times
  • Wipe down personally used equipment with sanitizing products before and after use
  • Wash or sanitize hands before and after classes
  • Wait in your car or outside before class, maintaining social distancing – no congregating please

WEIGHT ROOM & UPSTAIRS FITNESS AREA PROTOCOLS

Arrival/Check-in

  • Members should check-in at the front desk while maintaining social distancing with others and enter fitness area via stairwell by front desk only

Social Distancing

  • The fitness area is arranged to maintain social distancing

Fitness Programming Formats

  • Fitness programming designed and organized to maintain social distancing

Gym Protocols

  • Members should bring their own sports drinks/water – they are also available for purchase at the front desk
  • Members should leave their bag in a locker or on the concrete ledge, keeping a safe distance of 6 ft from other bags in the weight room. No bags should be left on the floor.
  • Members should keep towels and other personal items in their bags
  • Members should not touch others equipment, gear, etc.
  • Members are expected to wipe down equipment after use, backed-up by staff. Cleaning supplies are available throughout the club.
  • Consider wearing gloves during workouts to avoid touching equipment with your hands.
  • Consider wearing a mask or face shield when spotting or lifting off
  • Trainers and gym staff are always required to wear masks or face shields, except during workouts
  • Trainers and gym staff will remind members of gym protocols
  • Trainers will practice regular hand washing/sanitizing
  • Non-essential equipment has been removed from gym areas
  • Members are asked not to congregate in the club
  • After workouts members should only exit gym area via locker room or back hallway stairwell

PICKLEBALL PROTOCOLS

  • All pickleball programming and interaction is designed to maintain 6 foot social distancing
  • Parents/guardians/families/spectators are allowed provided they maintain proper social distancing

  • Pickleball reservations will be made by telephone, email, text, etc., to minimize in-person interaction
  • All reservations are strongly encouraged to be paid by member account or credit card

Pickleball Programming Formats

  • Pickleball programming includes casual play, open play, private and small group lessons and drills, match play and other formats that maintain social distancing

On-Court Protocols

  • Players should bring their own sports drinks/water – they are also available for purchase at the front desk
  • Players should limit switching ends of the court – any switching should be clockwise
  • Players should leave their gear on opposite sides of the court and at least 6 feet from others
  • Players should keep towels and other personal items in their bags between use during play
  • Players should not touch others equipment, gear, etc.
  • Consider wearing gloves during play to avoid picking up pickleballs with your hands.
  • Use new pickleballs and a new grip or fresh tape on your paddle handle if possible.
  • Consider playing singles only and avoid doubles play as doubles is not conducive for six-foot social distancing and leads to incidental contact with playing partners.
  • If you do elect to play doubles, consider playing with only those who reside within your household.
  • For match play, servers will serve with their own individually marked ball and opponents/partners roll or hit balls back to the server without handling the server’s ball. Once a server has completed his/her sequence the new server serves with their own ball.
  • Instructors and staff will remind players of pickleball protocols
  • Pickleball instructors will practice regular hand washing/sanitizing
  • Non-essential equipment has been removed from court areas
  • Pickleball nets will remain on the courts and will be touched only by WRRFC employees and will be cleaned after use
  • Pickleball instructors will have their own assigned baskets and balls. Pro’s will pick up all balls they feed.
  • Pickleball instructional equipment will be touched only by the assigned pro and will be cleaned after use
  • Demo pickleball paddles are not presently available - their usage and handling protocols are being evaluated
  • Practice good sportsmanship – replace handshakes/paddle bump, high-fives, etc., with the wave of a hand wave of your paddle

After Play

  • Players will be asked to leave the court before the next player(s) arrive
  • Players will be asked to not congregate in the club

RACQUETBALL PROTOCOLS

  • Observers/spectators are allowed provided they maintain proper social distancing

Reservation Process

  • Racquetball reservations will be made by telephone, email, text, etc., to minimize in-person interaction

On-Court Protocols

  • Singles and doubles play is allowed. We highly recommend you play within groups of trusted individuals.  When playing doubles, consider coordinating with your doubles partner to try to support physical distancing.
  • Players should bring their own sports drinks/water – they are also available for purchase at the front desk
  • Players should leave their gear outside the court and at least 6 feet from others
  • Players should sanitize their hands upon entry to the racquetball area and after they play
  • Players should keep towels and other personal items in their bags between use during play
  • Players should not touch others equipment, gear, etc.
  • Players should consider wearing gloves during play to avoid picking up racquetball with your hands
  • Players should consider wearing glasses and a headband or sweatband to keep perspiration out of their eyes
  • Players should bring extra shirts if they tend to perspire during play and should change shirts periodically during a hitting session to avoid excess perspiration on the court. Place dirty shirts in your sports bag or a plastic bag and do not place on the steps or carpeted landing.
  • Hand sanitizer and disinfecting spray is available throughout the club
  • Players should avoid touching their face and eyes during the session. If glasses need to be cleaned, then a clean towel brought by the player should be used and kept off court to wipe them off.
  • Use new racquetballs and a new grip or fresh tape on your racket handle if possible.
  • For match play, we recommend servers will serve with their own individually marked ball and opponents/partners roll or hit balls back to the server without handling the server’s ball. Once a server has completed his/her service the new server serves with their own ball.
  • Court scheduling will be subject to staggered start times to accommodate court cleaning
  • Practice good sportsmanship – replace handshakes/racquet bump, high-fives, etc., with the wave of a hand wave of your racquet

After Play

  • Players will be asked to leave the court before the next player(s) arrive
  • Players will be asked to not congregate in the club
