5 Tips For a Better More Restful Night’s Sleep
By Lynn Duffy, Group Fitness Director
It’s no big secret that a good night’s sleep makes you feel better, but unfortunately nearly 2 out of every 5 Americans report regularly getting under 7 hours (the minimum recommended amount) of sleep a night. One of the easiest ways to feel better and be healthier is to make sure you are getting those ZZZ’s every night! Check out these 5 tips to getting a better, more restful night’s sleep:
- Keep a regular sleep/wake schedule, even on weekends
- Avoid caffeine, alcohol and tobacco four to six hours before bedtime.
- Make sure your bedroom feels right for light, sound and temperature. A little cooler is often better for most people.
- Exercise regularly, but not right before trying to sleep.
- Stop eating two or three hours before bedtime.
