Western Reserve Racquet & Fitness Club in Streetsboro is playing an important role in the 2013 National Senior Games as the co-host of tennis competitions July 19 – 29. Athletes will compete in singles, doubles and mixed doubles matches. More than 80 tennis matches will take place daily throughout the event. The National Senior Games will run July 19 – August 1 at various downtown Cleveland and surrounding community venues.
With age groups ranging from 50 to 100+, the National Senior Games provide an opportunity for senior athletes to compete in a wide variety of 19 sports, from archery to volleyball. The games are presented by the National Senior Games Association (NSGA), a non-profit organization that emphasizes health and fitness for athletes age 50 and over. NSGA has organized the games every other year since 1985 with qualifying competitions held on off years. The National Senior Games are universally the largest multi-sport event for seniors and will be the country’s largest participatory event of 2013, with over 13,000 athletes set to compete in Cleveland.
