Excuses are the stop signs on our way toward reaching our fitness goals. Active.com recently posted an article, “7 Excuses Not to Use at Your Next Triathlon,” about triathlon excuses, however, many of them are excuses we’ve all used at one time or another to avoid training or working out.
Here are some of the more common ones:
“I’m simply not ready or prepared enough.” Some people never step foot through the front door of the gym because they don’t feel prepared. Don’t let that be a roadblock. Western Reserve Racquet & Fitness Club offers plenty of supportive fitness professionals to help you get started.
“Everyone is so much faster (choose your excuse – thinner, fitter, flexible, etc) than me, I’ll make a fool of myself.” Most of those excuses are out of your control. Work on what you can change and you’ll see results in no time.
“I wasn’t born to be an athlete.” Sure, it seems like every Olympian has superior athletic genes in their family tree, but, most of us aren’t trying to make an Olympic team. Athletes at every level can succeed by displaying commitment and determination.
Don’t let excuses be your roadblock. Stay focused and you’ll be surprised how quickly you reach your goals.
