GetFit Update – Week 4: Namaste!

Like all of those participating in the GetFit program, Laura is halfway through her experience. Here is her blog update:

Wow it is hard to believe that we are now halfway through with our challenge!

Personally I was having a hard time this week keeping my energy and enthusiasm about fitness at high levels this week. Part of this was feeling a little under the weather. But the week ended on a really good note with Yoga and Wine on Friday and then Yoga at the Cleveland Museum of Art on Sunday.

I didn’t really get a chance this week to embrace the organic, grass fed, etc. I tend to only go to the grocery store every other week, so I wasn’t doing any grocery shopping this week. When I do go grocery shopping, I like to make at least one switch to organic. For example if I am going to purchase carrots anyway, I try to get organic carrots. But cooking for one can already be a very costly experience, so I do my best to balance getting organic and sticking to a budget.

I happened to have a few delicious eggs leftover from Brunty Farms. They are a local farm that specializes in all natural, clean, pasture raised eggs and meats. If you ever get a chance to shop from them at a farmers market, I highly recommend their selections. Plus they are the nicest people!

Power Pump and Yoga are my favorite work outs anyway so this week was great! The added bonus was yoga Saturday night at the Cleveland Museum of Art for an event called Believe in CLE. It was completely free, but required advance registration. It reached capacity of 800 people! The yoga class was very fun and empowering. They are planning another event in March.
