GetFit Update – Week 5: Seeing Progress

Here is the latest update from Laura, our featured GetFit@WRRFC participant:

“Week five has come to a close and which means we only have three more weeks to accomplish any personal goals we made for the GetFit challenge.

My workouts were great this week! I have come to really enjoy Spinning and Fit360 is always a great challenge. This week was fun because my dad and I did both Fit360 classes together. It’s always nice to have someone who is feeling the same pain as you after a crazy arm workout!

My meals were pretty good this week, but Rick noticed I haven’t been including a lot of whole foods. I am trying, but it takes a lot of small steps to make lasting change. I am making a lot of progress in cooking and eating at home, even if it isn’t all whole foods yet! I am entertaining the idea of doing another personal four week whole foods challenge after we finish the GetFit program.

A big accomplishment from this past week that I didn’t get to include in my last blog post was running for one hour! Last Sunday, after I had already posted my blog, I went to the gym late in the afternoon. My goal was to run for a full hour, with as many walking breaks as I needed. I was so happy to accomplish this goal! Since I am training for a half marathon at the end of April this was an important milestone in my training.

I hope you have started to see progress in your fitness level, even if the number on the scale has changed. Let’s commit everything we’ve got to the last three weeks of the program!”
