After starting a new workout program, results usually show quickly. You’re looking good and feeling positive. Then at some point we all hit the same point…the dreaded plateau phase. This happens to everyone at some stage, but how do we overcome it and continue down the path of progressing towards our fitness goals? The answer is change. The body is very good at adapting to whatever you throw at it, but eventually if you keep doing the same workout, your body will become efficient enough to where it doesn’t really have to change anymore. Alter your exercises, your tempos, even the time of day you workout if possible and you will keep your body guessing, make it continue to adapt, and break right through that annoying plateau.
